The Oratory of Ave Maria will be the setting for the fourth annual Advent Festival of Lessons & Carols on Sunday, December 12, at 7:00PM.  The combined choirs of Ave Maria University along with a professional chamber ensemble, under the direction of Ave Maria Music Department Chairman Dr. Timothy McDonnell, will perform works of Handel, Franck, and other composers, along with traditional carols and hymns.  Featured ensembles will be the AMU Choir and the AMU Chamber Choir, directed by Dr. McDonnell and Professor Rebecca Ostermann, and the Women’s Schola Gregoriana, directed by Dr. Susan Treacy.  Mr. Lynn Kraehling, University Organist, will furnish the organ accompaniment and interludes.  Scripture readings of the Advent season will be read and there will be Advent hymns for all to sing.  Admission is free.
