Florida Pro Musica – Chant Concert Dec 19

December 8, 2010

Florida Pro Musica’s 8th Annual Advent Concert of Gregorian Chant – 4:00 p.m. December 19, 2010

Florida Pro Musica, directed by Larry Kent, presents its 8th annual Gregorian Chant concert: Gregorian Chant VIII: Mass for the Fourth Sunday of Advent. Presented in concert form and sung in Latin by a schola of eight men, the program recreates a chanted mass as it might have sounded 1,000 years ago. The concert also includes appropriate lessons of the day, which are read in English by a member of the schola. This annual presentation has become a Bay Area tradition, drawing capacity crowds to the beautiful sanctuary at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in downtown Tampa.

This 45-50 minute concert begins at 4:00 p.m., followed by a reception with the musicians in the Parish Hall. Tickets are specially priced at $10, and are available at the door or online at http://www.FloridaProMusica.com. This concert is presented as part of Sacred Heart’s 150th Anniversary Celebration.
